Personnel on BCC agenda

The Barton Community College Board of Trustees will deal with personnel matters at the next meeting, set for 4 p.m. Thursday, April 23, in the Seminar Room, F-30 of the Fine Arts Building. An executive session for private discussion of personnel is on the agenda, followed by the renewal or non-renewal of faculty contracts for next year.

“Contingency Planning Policy 1103,” which was discussed at the April 9 board study session, is also on the agenda. The proposed policy states:
In fulfilling its educational mission, Barton County Community College attempts to make optimal use of its resources. Optimum utilization may call for the adjustment of operational procedures such as a reduction or discontinuance of an academic program or department, or real location of resources as a result of changing educational priorities, shifting enrollment patterns, lack of funds or the requirements of legislative or other mandates.
The President will make these recommendations to the Board of Trustees based on the college’s educational mission, the need for maintaining program integrity, the need for financial viability, and the responsiveness of the college to the needs of the college community.
