Pheasant season brings search for longest tail feather

The regular pheasant hunting season begins this Saturday, Nov. 8, and continues through Jan. 31, 2015. Megan Hammeke at the Great Bend Recreation Commission reminds hunters that GBRC holds a Longest Tail Feather contest. The contest will run through the 2014-15 pheasant hunting season. The winner will receive a $30 Great Bend Chamber Gift certificate donated by Smokin Aces Gun Shop.
To enter, bring a tail feather to the GBRC office at 1214 Stone St. between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.  All entries must be turned in by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015. Entries will become the property of the GBRC. For more information, call the Recreation Commission office, 793-3755 ext. 2.
