Students from Riley and Lincoln elementary schools in Great Bend are shown enjoying “Pioneer Day,” Wednesday, May 4, at the Barton County Historical Society Museum and Village. Each year, third graders from Barton County spend a day at the BCHS, located south of the Arkansas River bridge in Great Bend at 85 S. U.S. 281. Andrea Bauer with Great Bend USD 428 noted, “Our teachers and students were excited to return after a few years ‘off’ due to COVID.”
