Preschool and childcare proposal on USD 428 agenda

The Great Bend USD 428 Board of Education will look at a preliminary plan to add childcare and preschool classes. The school board will be asked to approve the proposal and its planning phases when the board meets at 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, at the District Education Center, 201 South Patton Road.

Director of Teaching and Learning Tricia Reiser organized a committee of staff to discuss the preliminary plan. Reiser will share more details at Monday’s meeting.

Other items on the agenda include proposals to repair and refinish the gym floors and Park Elementary and Eisenhower Elementary; purchase of five new defibrillator units; virtual learning project update; renewal of the JAG-K partnership agreement; first reading of the 2022-2023 school calendar; second reading of board policy revisions; and an executive session to discuss confidential student information.
