The Barton County FSA Office will be holding two informational meetings on the 2014 Farm Bill on December 8 and 9. On Dec. 8, the meeting will be at 1 p.m. and will be held at the Kansas Wetlands Center, 592 NE K-156 Highway. The second meeting will be the evening of Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. and will be at the Great Bend Recreation Center, 1214 Stone St.
Attendees will learn about the Price Loss Coverage (PLC) and Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC) programs. Learning more about these two programs is extremely important for producers who must make a one-time decision about base and yield updates as well as PLC or ARC election and enrollment decisions.
The Barton County Extension Agent, Alicia Boor, will also be making a presentation during both meetings. For more information about the meetings, please contact the Barton Co. FSA Office at (620) 792-5329.
Persons with disabilities who require accommodations to attend or participate in these meetings should contact Lynn Peterson at (620) 792-5329 extension 1222 or Federal Relay Service at 1-800-877-8339 by December 5.
