Public invited to hear music contest entries

Neeland wins GBHS Invite.

Musical soloists and ensembles at Great Bend High School will present their contest selections at 7 p.m. Monday, April 1, in the GBHS Band Room. These are selections they will perform later this week for the Regional Kansas State High School Activities Association contest.

Soloists include McKenna Esfeld and Kaylee Marley, flute; Gabriella Reyes, clarinet; Gavin Young, bari sax;  Lorena Favela, trumpet; Matthew Phillips, Dalton Dicks and Sienna Cauley, trombone; Lane Milholland, tuba; and Allen To, Amy To and Sidney Cooper, marimba.

Also performing are the Mixed Woodwind Trio (McKenna Esfeld, Accacia Pedigo, Jordyn Stukey); the Saxophone Quartet (Robby Brining, Carlos Jacobo, Sage Cauley, Dustin Emig) accompanied by Allen To on piano; and the Brass Octet (Alex Smith, Lorena Favela, Dylan Lamb, Matthew Phillips, Dalton Dicks, Lane Milholland, Daniel Abbott, Malachi Williams).

The public is invited to attend this free performance. Mark DeWald and Don Regehr are directors, and Mrs. Marlene Regehr is piano accompanist for the soloists.

The Regional KSHSAA contest and festival is Saturday, April 6, at Barton Community College. Performances will take place throughout the day in the Fine Arts Auditorium.
