Virgil-Ritchie-quilt
United States Air Force veteran Sergeant Virgil Ritchie was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on April 28, 2023 at the American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend. Golden Plains Quilts of Valor awarded three Quilts of Valor to area veterans on Friday, April 28. Presentations were made at the American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend. 


A.J. Pfannenstiel


United States Army veteran Specialist Four A. J. Pfannenstiel was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on April 28, 2023, at the American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend. Pfannenstiel served from 1971 to 1973. The quilt top was made by VirJean Scheuerman; quilting by Amy Schartz Mellor. From left: Poncho Hitschmann, A. J. Joe Pfannenstiel


United States Navy veteran Machinist’s Mate Second Class Joe Pfannenstiel was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on April 28, 2023, at the American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend. Pfannenstiel served from 1958 to 1962. The quilt top was made by Mary Lou Weiser; quilting by Amy Schartz Mellor.
