On Dec. 6, Relay for Life of Barton County’s Team Hope held a Winter Wonderland Pageant at the Elk’s Lodge in Great Bend. There were 25 girls and 1 boy competing from the Central Kansas Glamour Kids.
Every child got a crown, a sash, a trophy and a prize.
The top grand prize was Ultimate Grand Supreme, that was awarded to Arianna Randolph of Emporia. Her mom is Serena Randoplh. The two special awards were Mr and Miss Team Hope. Those went to, Maycee Parr of Great Bend, daughter of Eric and Reagan Parr; and Dyson Purdy of LaCrossse, son of Gene and Vickie Purdy.
“Several local businesses donated to help make this possible, special thanks to all of them and all the volunteers that helped as well,” said event organizer Teresa Cass. “A big special thank you to the Elk’s for donating their time and space and serving a meal. This was the first of many more to come, hoping to do one a year.”
The event raised $700. “That is pretty good for the first year,” Cass said.
