The Barton County Association of Churches will hold its annual Christian Unity Service at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at the Prince of Peace Parish St. Patrick Church, 4100 Broadway Ave.
All are invited to come and pray for Christian unity. Reflections will be given by Sister Jolene Geier, Dominican Sisters of Peace; the Rev. Jon Brudvig, Trinity Lutheran; and Pastor Mike Munz, First Congregational United Church of Christ.
Freewill donations will be accepted for Barton County Emergency Aid.
There are a few changes in this year’s service, Sister Jolene said. In the past, it has been held on a Sunday with one speaker.

Jan. 18-25 is also the International Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. According to Graymoor Ecumenical & Interreligious Institute, the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity has a history of over 100 years. By annually observing the WPCU, Christians move toward the fulfillment of Jesus’ prayer at the Last Supper “that they all may be one.” (cf. John 17:21)
