Immanuel UCC to hold annual Bazaar

ELLINWOOD — Carrying on a long-time tradition, the Immanuel United Church of Christ, located on West 7th St. in Ellinwood, will hold its Annual Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15. A lunch of vegetable soup and pie will be served beginning at 11 a.m.
Homemade items for sale will include bierocks, breads, cakes, candies, cookies and pie. Craft and white elephant items will also be available.
The drawing for a queen/king size hand-pieced quilt will be at 1 p.m., but one need not be present to win.


Getting Centered Mission offered in two cities

St. Joseph Church in Ellinwood and Immaculate Conception Church in Claflin are hosting a three-evening mission, “Getting Centered,” Presented by Heart to Heart Communications Inc. The mission will take place from 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday and Tuesday, Nov. 16 and 18, in Ellinwood, and Monday, Nov. 17, in Claflin. Baby-sitting will be provided for children 3 to 10 years old. The presenters will be Father Norm Douglas and Larry Vuillemin. The public is welcome to attend all or part of the mission.

Movies with a Message features C.S. Lewis

The Heartland Center for Spirituality will show the movie, “The Life and Faith of C.S. Lewis: The Magic Never Ends,” at 6:15 p.m. today, in the auditorium at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Motherhouse, 3600 Broadway Ave. A freewill offering will be accepted to offset the cost of refreshments.

Peace Lutheran wraps up 125th celebration

ALBERT — Members of Peace Lutheran Church in Albert are celebrating 125 years of Christian faith ministry in rural Kansas — from 1889 to 2014. The final event in the year-long observance will be a worship service with Holy Communion at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16, at the church.

SpiritLife classes offered Saturday

Heartland Center for Spirituality in Great Bend will hold SpiritLife classes on Saturday Nov. 15.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the last class will conclude at 3 p.m.
