First Assembly hosts Super Saturday for single moms and military wives

First Assembly of God Church, 601 Patton Road, is reaching out to single mothers and military wives this weekend with Super Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The promotion allows single moms or wives of deployed servicemen to come and be pampered in a number of ways, said Andrea Gardner, a First Assembly Women’s Ministries volunteer. Free childcare in a safe, nurturing environment by experienced volunteers gives the women peace of mind while they enjoy the free amenities provided to them during the Super Saturday event. Women who register can enjoy manicures, pedicures, chair massages, oil changes, car washes, vehicle safety checks, lunch, and even picking up school supplies for their kids.
“We organize this event to bless others,” Gardner said. “It’s important to pamper these women because they are so busy doing so much for others.”
This is the church’s third year annual Super Saturday. The event is free for women who pre-register. Registration is accepted by calling First Assembly of God Church, 620-792-5211.
