Pam Morgan can testify to the power of prayer. In June 2000, an accident left her with a broken neck, paralyzed from the chest down. She was told she would never feel or move most of her body again.
The speaker, writer and recording artist will share her story during Saturday’s Great Bend Aglow meeting at Faith Community Church, 293 West Barton County Road (one mile west of 10th and Patton Road). Sign-in and social time starts at 9 a.m., with the meeting at 9:30. Women and men are welcome to attend.
Morgan’s first book, “I Stand – A Miraculous Journey from Paralysis to Praise,” provides her account of what happened after doctors told her she’d be paralyzed for life. Immediately after her accident, prayers were raised around the world for her complete healing. To doctors’ amazement, movement gradually returned to her lifeless limbs. Fifteen months later, she walked on stage with her husband as living proof of what the Great Physician can do.
Her amazing story has been featured in metropolitan newspapers across the country and in magazines such as Woman’s World, Evangel and Today’s Christian Woman. She has also appeared on various radio and television programs, including Oprah, Montel, 700 Club, Life Today with James Robison and the Discovery Health Channel’s Only A Miracle.
“I Stand” was written with Brenda Black and published by Jubalee Press in July 2009. It is more than a tale of physical healing, publishers report. “In this moving account, Pam transparently shares how her heart was broken and her faith strengthened, inspiring others to seek God in their suffering. The tremendous initial response required a second printing two weeks after the book’s release.”
Pam Morgan and her singer/songwriter husband Phil have released nine gospel CDs and travel nationwide. Their music has reached around the world and is available on iTunes. They have two daughters, Kayla and Alisha, and live in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
