Vintage and antique books are unpacked by members of the Presbyterian Churchs Mission/Evangelism Team, in preparation for a book sale on June 9. Pictured are, from left: Dr. Bill King, Howard Bosley, Jan Bonine and Jean Dringmann.

Members of the First Presbyterian Church will hold a used book said from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, as a “Money for Mission” project.
Members will offer like-new and gently used books for sale at the church at 24th and Washington in Great Bend, said Carol Woodmansee, moderator of the Presbyterian Church mission and evangelism committee. There will be a variety of hardbacks and paperbacks, fiction and nonfiction, for children and adults. Also for sale will be bundles of magazines on specialized topics. Prices will be $1 and under.
One table will feature vintage and antique books with copyrights ranging from the 1800s through the very early 20th century. Prices on these books will reflect their value, Woodmansee said.
All proceeds from this sale will go to Barton County Emergency Aid and the church’s Crisis Management program. The week prior to the sale, community members are welcome to donate gently used books in good condition in support of these mission causes.
