Prince of Peace Parish has chosen the program “Babylon: Daniel’s Courage in Captivity,” for its vacation Bible school for children from kindergarten through the fourth grade. This interactive class will take place from 6-8:30 p.m. July 9-13 at the Parish Center, 4100 Broadway.
Director of Religious Education Cheryl Alexander said parishioners will “build the city of Babylon” so that children may walk through the various shops and scenes. Each day there will be stories at Daniel’s house, and as they walk through the “shops” of ancient Babylon they will get the materials to make take-home crafts such as flutes and hanging garden baskets.
“The shop keepers will discuss the Lord with them,” Alexander said.
Lessons are based on a different scripture each day.
There will also be Bible-time games for the children, and an evening celebration time with singing and prayers. “It’s always about God and serving,” Alexander said.
