Saturday evening worship service begins Sept. 24

A new time for the entire family to worship. That’s what the Larned church of the Nazarene will be offering on Saturday evenings starting on Sept. 24.
Called “Saturday Night @ 5ive”, the worship will be informal and contemporary.
Bobbi Jo Grieb, the worship leader at the Great Bend Church of the Nazarene, and her band, “Audience of One”, will provide the latest in contemporary praise and worship songs. Not only will the music be lively and inspirational, the entire service will be informal. Jeans and casual attire coupled with light refreshments will underscore the fact that the entire worship service will be unlike anything now being offered in Larned on a day other than Sunday. Children will be welcomed and activities for them will be included during the hour-long worship service. The service will conclude at 6 p.m. so it will not interfere with other weekend family activities.
“We know that some people are required to work nearly every Sunday so it has been difficult for them to find somewhere to worship that fits their schedule”, said Leroy Lyon, pastor. “Further, these folks need to spend some time with their families so this Saturday evening worship service has been designed to provide a worship alternative for them, Lyon explains.
“We invite everyone in our area who does not now have a church home to come at 5 p.m. on Saturday evenings to experience this unique service”.
