Author Kris Goertzen from Hutchinson will be the featured speaker at “A Reflection of Christ,” a conference for women and teens. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in the Perkins Party Room, 2920 10th St., Great Bend.
According to her bio information at www.krisgoertzen.com, “Kris Goertzen is truly living her life’s dream! She is happily married to her favorite pastor, she has three beautiful children who love Christ and she has the honor of ministering to women across the globe. ... Her local ministry is based at Grace Bible Church in Hutchinson, where her husband has been the senior pastor since 1995.”

This event is sponsored by Live Like Jesus Today Ministries, the work of Bryant “Buzz” and Clifann Birney, Ellinwood. The Birneys say their aim is to build long-term relationships and to grow the Kingdom of God. They work with international students at Barton Community College and they have started a group for teen girls called GOLD. Buzz Birney also ministers at the Larned Correctional Facility every Monday.

Registrations are being taken now but will also be available at the door from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. on the day of the conference. Cost is $30 for adults and $15 for girls 12 to 18 years old.
