FORT RILEY — Congressman Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) met with Ft. Riley leadership Thursday morning to receive an update about the 1st Infantry Division.

Following the meeting, he attended the 2nd Armored Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Change of Command and Change of Responsibility Ceremony at Cavalry Parade Field. Following his visit to the post, Rep. Huelskamp issued the following statement:

“Especially as we near the 70th anniversary of D-Day, it is an honor to visit the Fort Riley community, to meet with its leadership and to honor the brave men and women defending our nation. It is important that we continue to do all we can to protect our soldiers and clearly define their mission. From the front lines to the home front — from the battlefields to the VA, those who put their lives on the line deserve the best. The Big First has the great distinction of being the home of Fort Riley and I will continue to work hard to protect our interests.”
