Road break Great Bend police officers stand watch at the intersection of 16th and Harrison Monday night after the concrete on Harrison buckled, creating a 20-inch rise. Great Bend Street Superintendent Mike Crawford said the blow-up was caused by the extreme heat. Harrison was closed at 5:30 p.m. Monday and remained closed Tuesday. On Tuesday morning, Crawford said the old, broken concrete was removed and new concrete poured. The hope to have the street reopened Wednesday morning. - photo by MIKE MARZOLF Special to the Tribune Latest Trash to trends We are the tip of the sword!
