Wedel accepted to KSU Summer Choral Institute
Voice student Ethan Wedel of Great Bend was recently accepted to the Kansas State University Summer Choral Institute after auditioning with one of the songs he prepared at Gaunt’s Music Studio. He is one of just 40 choral music students from across the country accepted into this program that is one of the nation’s most unique summer programs for high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors.
Gaunt worked with Wedel to help him learn the music for the Summer Choral Institute which included eight choral works at an advanced level. Wedel will attend the program in June at Kansas State University with a performance at the Kansas Cosmosphere in Hutchinson at 11 a.m. on June 8.

Gaunt’s Music Studio runs a six-week summer session each year and a school session that runs 31 weeks from September through April. The focus of instruction is classical vocal literature along with some folk music and musical theatre. Vocal technique is the basis of the instruction for all students.
