The Great Bend City Band will offer a free concert of big band music at 8:15 p.m. Friday, July 23, at the Moses Bandshell on the Thelma Faye Harms Stage at Jack Kilby Square.
Audience members can bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the music. A wide variety of musical selections will be performed by the group.
Originally, only one City Band concert was scheduled for 2021 but the turnout on July 1 was so overwhelmingly wonderful that the band members and leaders were excited to provide another option, according to band organizer Kurtis Koch.
Don’t forget this Thursday, July 15th the Kansas Army National Guard Infantry Band will be playing at the bandshell from 7-8 p.m. in the same location.
In case of bad weather, the concert will be canceled. Questions may be sent to Koch at kkoch53@hotmail.com or call Great Bend Community Coordinator/CVB Director Christina Hayes at 620-793-4111.
