A Lyons woman was taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital on Monday after vehicles collided at 11:10 a.m. on U.S. 281, 3.5 miles north of Great Bend.
Kansas Highway Patrol reports a 2016 Peterbilt tractor driven by Benito Trevino, 54, of Halstead, and a 2014 Nissan Versa driven by Meanna Laurin, 25, of Lyons, were both northbound on U.S. 281. The Nissan was passing the semi-trailer when the semi ran the Nissan off the roadway; Laurin lost control of the Nissan and struck a 2006 Ford Freestyle driven by Rose Schlyer, 56, of Russell. The Nissan and the Ford came to rest in the east ditch and the Peterbilt came to rest on the east shoulder.
Laurin sustained a possible injury and the other motorists were not injured. KHP reports all of the drivers were wearing seat belts. The Nissan and Ford were both removed by tow services.
