Semis collide in Stafford County

Two semitrailers collided at 9:18 p.m. Thursday in Stafford County on U.S. 50 at SW 30th Ave., about 4 miles west of U.S. 281.
Kansas Highway Patrol reports a westbound Freightliner driven by Kevin John Peters, 42, of Covington, Georgia was struck by an eastbound Freightliner driven by Heert P. Dewindt, 70, of Phelan, California as it was making a U-turn at the intersection.
Both drivers were taken to the Stafford County Hospital. Dewindt sustain undetermined injury and Peters for sustained possible injury. Both were wearing seat belts.
Both semis were removed by Doonan’s.
