Mary Jo Taylor

The Great Bend Tribune received word Tuesday afternoon that Sen. Mary Jo Taylor, (Dist. 33) has decided to run for reelection in 2020.

“I have registered with the Secretary of State’s office to run for re-election in Kansas Senate District #33.  Kansas has seen a lot of forward movement as a state during the last three years.  As a candidate in 2016, I vowed to support public education, health care, and fiscal common sense.  Since that time, we do have a constitutional education formula.  I believe we will be able to finally address Medicaid Expansion next session to help the working poor as well as the institutions that provide it.  I believe in tight fiscal responsibility for all Kansans. The legislature ended the year with an ending balance that is “in the black.”

I am asking the voters of District #33 to allow me one more term to work with other legislators in this pragmatic, constituent-based style of leadership.  Things are looking up in Topeka!”

Sen. Mary Jo Taylor serves West Central Kansas including Barton, Edwards, Kiowa, Lane, Ness, Pawnee, Pratt, Rush, Scott, Stafford. and parts of Hodgeman and Rice Counties.
