U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kansas) invites people to join him in honoring Kansas’ native son General Dwight David Eisenhower in recognizing the 71st anniversary of D-Day on Saturday, June 6.
Roberts is the new Chairman of the Eisenhower Memorial Commission. A video posted on YouTube explains “why the greatest war-time general, peace-time president and our hero, “Ike,” will have a memorial on the National Mall.”
The video can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuCATdQVRCQ.
The Eisenhower Memorial Commission’s website (http://eisenhowermemorial.gov/) offers a collection of videos, photos and other media to tell the story of Eisenhower’s service to our nation.
“You can also like the Commission on Facebook and follow them on Twitter to get updates on our work to honor Ike with a memorial to preserve his legacy for generations to come,” Roberts said
