On Wednesday, Aug. 14, the Barton County Sheriff’s Office will conduct selective enforcement from 7-9 a.m. on West Barton County Road. (10th Street Extension) between the Great Bend city limits and SW 70 Ave. Sheriff Brian Bellendir said officers will be paying particular attention to speed violations and occupant restraint usage.
“The Sheriff’s Office periodically selects locations where violations and accidents are at an increased level for such activities,” Bellendir announced. “It is not the goal of the Sheriff’s Office to write citations, but to gain compliance from the motoring public through education and advance notice of our enforcement activities. We ask that all drivers in Barton County please obey traffic laws and wear your seat belts. Please drive safely.”
