A Great Bend man is in custody on a host of drug and other charges following a raid on a Great Bend residence by the Barton County Sheriff’s Office and Kansas Bureau of Investigation Tuesday afternoon, Sheriff Brian Bellendir said.

At just after 3 p.m., members of the BCSO and KBI executed a joint search warrant at an apartment complex located at 5210 10th St. Officers met with only minor resistance, Bellendir said.

Arrested at the scene was Ronald Cornell, age 63. Cornell was transported to the Barton County Sheriff’s Office. He was booked on a parole violation warrant, as well as multiple counts of distribution of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and other charges.

Since some of the charges are separate incidents, multiple bonds will apply in excess of $100,000, the sheriff said.
