Scott Gregory, director of Great Bend’s Brit Spaugh Zoo, holds a snapping turtle he captured Wednesday. Although Gregory said he receives calls from people who say “one of your turtles is out,” the turtles are wild animals that are out in abundance now during the most active time of their mating season. This one will be placed in the pond at the zoo.
