Everything from restaurant equipment to medical supplies to office furniture will be included in the upcoming St. Rose Ambulatory & Surgery Center public auction. It is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12 in the building just east of the Dominican Sisters Convent in the 3500 block of Broadway.
“Since we have vacated a portion of our facility and identified numerous useful items, we wanted to make them available to the public,” said Mark Mingenback, director of business strategy and marketing. “There are quite a number of items, including an abundance of restaurant equipment from the former cafeteria that is in good condition.”
Medical items include adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs, crutches and walkers; office equipment includes chairs, bookshelves and desks; and appliances include television sets and lamps.
St. Rose employees and other volunteers have been moving items to the auction site via the tunnel that runs under Broadway Street between St. Rose and the convent grounds. The Great Bend High School football team moved many of the larger items last month as a community service project.
“We encourage anyone who needs used items that are in good condition to attend the auction,” Mingenback said. “All proceeds stay right here at St. Rose.”
The auction is the result of Central Kansas Medical Center making the transition from a hospital to an ambulatory and surgery center last year.
