An injury accident was reported at 9:30 a.m. Sunday on West U.S. 56, about a mile east of Dundee. A motorist from Dodge City told the Barton County Sheriff’s Office he came upon the Ford Ranger pickup, which was on its hood in a ditch. A subject in a white T-shirt got out and started to ask for a ride, but instead took off running into a field. The reporting party did not see blood but said the individual’s head was bruised and his eye was swollen shut. Officers checked and no one else was in the vehicle.
A theft case was taken on the vehicle.
