Cabinetmaking and Furniture Design II (Woods III) students of Travis Straub at Great Bend High School recently set to work refinishing tables in the library.
Straub said he had noticed how shabby the tables were looking and set students to work.
The refurbishing is a 12-step process, including dismantling, ripping the top in half, planing, sanding, gluing back together, staining, varnishing and reassembling.
Straub said it takes the team six days to finish one table and he plans to refinish 10 of them.
“I have one back already and it is beautiful,” said Emily Mulch, library media specialist. “I love that his students are doing a service for our school.
