Survey to begin on US-281 Highway in Barton County

Starting around Tuesday, Jan. 20, and continuing for three weeks, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will have a field survey team surveying a section of US-281 Highway in Barton County. The survey area will include the section of US-281 highway 600 feet north and 600 feet south of the US-281 bridge over a drainage tributary, located one mile north of the Great Bend city limits. The purpose of the survey is to gather information necessary to create detailed designs for future highway improvements.Michael Selley, P.S., Field Survey Project Manager, will be in charge of this survey for KDOT. A member of the survey crew will contact landowners and/or tenants for permission to enter private property.
