The 12th Annual Great Bend Cookie Contest was held Saturday in conjunction with Small Business Saturday to encourage residents to shop locally, bringing out a throng of participants to more than 20 downtown business. The contest allowed people to sample cookies from the participating business locations, and vote for the best cookies in town.  A donation of $5 was suggested for all participating judges, with proceeds go to the Food Bank of Barton County to help feed those in need during the holiday season and beyond.
