Hello and Happy Friday from the Great Bend Public Library.
We are looking for Artists to fill our Art Display here in the Library. All art can be 2D or 3D and will be on display for a month. If you are interested in displaying your art alone or with a friend please don’t hesitate to call the Great Bend Public Library at 620-792-2409 and ask for Diedre or Liz.
Next week on Monday, Jan. 30, there will be Crochet Classes at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. . Children’s makerspace will be at 6 p.m. . On Tuesday, Jan. 31, Babies Class will be at 10 a.m. and Children’s Class will be at 11 a.m. . The theme for this week in the Children’s Area is Groundhogs. At 3 p.m. there will be a Tech Tuesday Class to go over various ways of checking out e-books to your different devices. They will go over 3M, Overdrive, and Total Boox. You will need a State Library Card for this class. You can get one for free and sign up for the class at our Welcome Desk. Thursday, Feb. 2, at 4 p.m. there is Magic the Gathering in the Lower Level Meeting Room. At 5 p.m. Writers Corner is meeting in the Main Conference Room. On Friday, Feb. 3, there are Children’s Classes at 10 a.m. and a Children’s movie upstairs at 4 p.m. .
The Crochet Club would like to send out a special thanks to Veronica Coons and Shirlee Jackson for their wonderful donations of yarn, hats, and scarves. The Crochet club will be wrapping up their Warmth for Winter Campaign on Tuesday, Jan. 31. This year they chose to donate items to the Hungry Hearts Soup Kitchen. If you know of an organization or a Charity that would benefit from the Crochet Clubs’ skills you can bring the information to the Welcome Desk at the Library or call the number above and ask for Liz.
