‘Things I Saw in the Sky’ opens Friday at Shafer Gallery

The Shafer Art Gallery will unveil its next exhibit “Things I Saw in the Sky,” by artists Shannon Trevethan of Russell and LauraLi Imel with a reception at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 19, featuring a short artist talk, comments by the director, and light refreshments. The exhibit runs through June 16. Admission is free.

Trevethan is the well-known Director of the Dienes Art Center in Russell. Imel is a Kansas City-based artist whose strong academic background informs her quest for spiritually laden forms.

The Shafer Gallery is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is always free. For more information, contact Barnes at barnesd@bartonccc.eduor 620-792-9342.
