Reports of tornadoes and hail in the Barton County area began shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday, but the storm had weakened by 6:30. At 4:53 p.m., the National Weather Service reported a tornado that was confirmed by law enforcement was located near Great Bend, moving north at 30 mph. Barton County residents were warned of a possible tornado and golf ball size hail.The storm was expected to be near Hoisington around 5:05 p.m. Other locations impacted included Cheyenne Bottoms and Susank.There was another tornado warning for northeast Barton County at 5:45 p.m. after radar indicated rotation.
