A traffic stop Thursday afternoon, April 6, resulted in the arrest of one man on drug and weapons charges, according to a Great Bend Police Department news release issued Monday afternoon.
At about 2:50 p.m. lasts Thursday, officers with the GBPD initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1100 block of K-96 for a moving infraction. During the traffic stop, K9 Menta was utilized to conduct a free air sniff, where she alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics.
While searching the vehicle, officers located prescription medications, marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle, the release notes. They also found a pair of brass knuckles and a firearm.
The driver of the vehicle, Laughn Seltmann, 56, was placed under arrest for possession of controlled substances, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal use of a weapon, unlawful carry of a weapon, driving while suspended and no proof of current insurance. He was transported to the Barton County Jail where he was booked in lieu of bond.
