Traffic stop yields drug bust

At about 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, a Great Bend Police Department detective made a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Harrison. During the traffic stop, the odor of marijuana was detected, so a search of the vehicle was conducted, the GBPD reported. 

Approximately five pounds of marijuana, methamphetamine, acid, mushrooms, MDMA (methyl​enedioxy​methamphetamine or Ecstasy), and drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle, according to the GBPD. Xavier Allen Carey, 25, was arrested and transported to the Barton County Jail were he was booked and confined in lieu of $100,000 bond on charges of distribution of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, no drug tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia.
