Great Bend Public Works Department personnel work on a collapsed storm water box at 18th and Baker Monday. This has been a winter-long issue and repairs have been hampered by the weather and forced the closure of Baker on the south side of the intersection. “But now that the weather has given us a reprieve. I think that we can get in there and get that knocked out in a short amount of time,” City Administrator Kendal Francis said. Crews were scheduled to finish pouring concrete for bottom of box on Tuesday, and hope to start working on the walls and top of it in the next week or so.
