Trick or Tree deadline extended

Everyone will get an extra hour of sleep Sunday with the end of Daylight Saving Time, and photographers will get an extra two days to enter the annual Trick or Tree photography contest.
The Great Bend Tree Board sponsors the contest for the best photos of Barton County trees. Tree Board President Toni Rice said the contest usually ends on Oct. 31, “but since that falls on a Saturday, we will extend it until Monday, Nov. 2, so people might have one last chance to get out over the weekend and enjoy the autumn colors.”
Photographs of trees may be submitted in one of the following categories:
• Shutterbug - Photography with subdivisions for novice and professional
• Biggest - Tree trunk diameter; single trunk measured 4.5 feet above ground
• Most unusual species
• Most beautiful fall colors
• “Family Tree” - The most interesting story or historical significance.
Photos may be submitted via email at trickortree@yahoo.com, or they may be dropped off at the City Office, 1209 Williams St
