Two convicted of juvenile sex crimes
scales-of-justice

Two men were convicted Friday of sex crimes involving juveniles, Barton County Attorney Amy Mellor said. The cases were unrelated. Camerino Rodriguez Olvera and Todd Lane Leech appeared in Barton County District Court and entered pleas.
Olvera was convicted of aggravated sexual battery and sexual battery. The convictions stem from crimes involving two juveniles and occurred between July 2011 and June 2012.
Leech was convicted of rape. The conviction stems from a crime involving one juvenile that occurred between June 2010 and June 2011.

Both men were arrested following the filing of charges by the Barton County Attorney’s Office. Both are being held in jail with bonds set at $1 million.
Sentencing for both cases is scheduled for May 26.
The cases were investigated by the Great Bend Police Department and prosecuted by Mellor.
District Judge Ron Svaty presided over the hearings last Friday.
