USD 428 sets Food Service Job Fair next week
GB USD 428

Great Bend Public Schools (USD 428) will host a Food Service Job Fair on Monday, Jan. 5, from 113 p.m. at the Central Kitchen, 625 E. 10th St., inviting community members to explore employment opportunities within the district.

The job fair will highlight openings in the USD 428 Food Service Department, including manager-in-training positions starting at $16.75 per hour, with a $0.25 per hour increase after the first 60 days, as well as full- and part-time server positions at school sites across the district.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about job responsibilities, pay, benefits, training, and scheduling options. These positions offer a supportive team environment, consistent schedules aligned with the school day, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students.

“These positions play a vital role in the daily success of our students,” said Superintendent Khris Thexton. “As USD 428 launches free breakfast for all students when we return to school on Jan. 6, 2026, our Food Service team will be more important than ever. We are proud of the work they do to support student wellness and learning, and we encourage those interested in making a difference to consider joining our team.”

Individuals interested in Food Service positions – or other employment opportunities within the district – are encouraged to attend the job fair or visit 428jobs.net to view all current openings and apply online.
