A favorite community holiday tradition, the annual Vespers Concert will be held on Sunday, December 12 at 2 p.m. at the Great Bend High School Auditorium, located at 2027 Morton St.

Featuring the A Cappella Choir directed by Susan Stambaugh and accompanied by Lindsay Luttrell, Vespers shares the sights and sounds of the season through narration and song. More than 50 choir members, with additional percussion, horn and other musicians, will share this tradition with the community this year. The first Vespers concert at GBHS was held in 1936, 85 years ago.

“Vespers is a memorable concert for my students, the audience, and the community,” said Stambaugh. “We are grateful to be able to resume this meaningful tradition in 2021.”

The community is invited to attend this free concert. Vespers will be followed by the USD 428 Youth Choir’s holiday performance at 3:30 p.m., also held in the GBHS Auditorium.
