United States Army veteran Robert House was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on August 14, 2019, at Locust Grove, La Crosse, Kansas. Robert served from 1952 to 1953. After completing basic training at Fort Riley, Kansas, he was stationed at Karlsruhe, Germany. The quilt top was made by Linda Bittel; quilting by Amy Schartz Mellor.
