Zoo expected to reopen Tuesday

The Great Bend Brit Spaugh Zoo has been closed since ice coated the sidewalks last Thursday. According to Scott Keeler, director of public lands, employees have been working to clear ice from the sidewalks so they will be safe for visitors. The zoo is expected to reopen Tuesday. Regular hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and admission is free.
Zookeepers are on hand daily to tend to the animals. With the cooler weather some of the warm weather animals will remain off exhibit, but the North American animals such as the arctic foxes don’t mind the weather at all.
