Frank Relmar Jr., 32, of Great Bend was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the course of a sting operation conducted by the Barton County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir, BCSO detectives conducted what is known as a “buy/bust” operation, a drug sting in which an operative purchases drugs from a suspect with money that has had the serial numbers recorded. Once the transaction is made, the suspect is immediately arrested and taken into custody. Surveillance of both parties is conducted during the sting.

The operation Tuesday resulted in the arrest of Relmar in the 500 block of Frey Street on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Relmar was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Barton County Jail. As of Wednesday, he was being in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

BCSO was assisted in the operation by a detective from the Great Bend Police Department.
