The Barton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a three-vehicle injury crash around 11:35 a.m. Thursday on K-156 near the Camp Aldrich turnoff. Sheriff Brian Bellendir reports five people were transported to the University of Kansas Medical Center - Great Bend Campus but none had life-threatening injuries.

According to the sheriff, one vehicle attempted to make a left-hand turn into the path of a second oncoming vehicle, which was then knocked into a third vehicle that went off the roadway and overturned. There were some personnel from Fort Riley who came upon the crash and assisted the BCSO at the scene with traffic control.

More information is expected to be released on Friday.
