GB arrested on suspicion of assault, narcotics charges

Great Bend Police arrested a man Thursday after an alleged assault was reported Thursday night at a residence in Great Bend.

According to a GBPD released at around 9:10 p.m., GBPD officers were dispatched to an address in Great Bend in reference to an aggravated assault and criminal threat which occurred in the 1400 block of 8th Street. Officers received information a handgun was pointed at subjects in the area and threats had been made. 

Officers gathered information, which led them to execute a search warrant at a residence located at 50 Becker Court in southwest Great Bend. During the execution of the search warrant, officers located substantial amounts of suspected marijuana, scales, as well as Smith & Wesson firearm.  

A Great Bend man, Horacio Carrasco-Olivas, 22, was arrested at the Becker Court. Carrasco-Olivas was transported to the Barton County Detention Center where he was booked on requested charges of aggravated assault, criminal threat, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of paraphernalia and possession of a firearm by a felon, in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
