Great Bend man arrested after busy day

Great Bend Police were contacted at 9:15 a.m. Monday after Christopher Holt, Great Bend, was reportedly seen shoplifting at a local farm and home store. He was contacted and the property was returned. The reporting party refused to press charges; Holt was escorted off the property and told he is no longer welcome at the business.
Police were called again at 12:16 p.m. Monday, after Holt allegedly shoplifted a pair of boots valued at $180 from Brown’s Shoe Fit Company, 1305 Main, Great Bend.
At 6 p.m., police responded to a disturbance at Love’s convenience store, 1221 10th St., where Holt and another man were involved in an altercation. Holt was arrested on a Great Bend Municipal Court charge of possession of stolen property and booked into the Barton County Jail. Bond was set at $2,500.
Last Thursday, Holt allegedly stole a bicycle from someone on Second Street. It was returned and the reporting party at first said he didn’t want to press charges, but later changed his mind. Holt was served a notice to appear (NTA) in municipal court.
At 9:32 a.m. Friday, a male fitting his description allegedly stole some meat from the Dillon’s store at 1811 Main, and that afternoon he was served another NTA in reference to that case.
