Ice was cited as the cause of a single vehicle injury crash early Thursday morning near St. John in Stafford County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, at shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday, a 2003 GMC Envoy driven by 50-year-old Olivia Ubanda-Rodriguez of St. John was southbound on U.S. 281, about a quarter mile south of St. John, when Rodriguez lost control of the vehicle after encountering ice on a bridge. The Envoy crossed the roadway and rolled into the east ditch.

Ubanda-Rodriguez was transported to Stafford County Hospital in St. John with what were believed to be minor injuries. There were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash. KHP reports the driver was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
