Barton County Sheriff
A rape was reported at 12:52 a.m. Thursday. The victim reported going on a motorcycle ride and being assaulted at an unknown location north of Great Bend.
A male was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg Thursday over the noon hour at the Great Bend Regional Hospital Emergency Room. He told the investigating deputy he accidentally shot himself at a friend’s house in the county.
Damage was done to a shed at SE 90 Ave. and West Barton County Road.
A vehicle hit a deer Thursday night on U.S. 281 near mile post 201.

Great Bend Police
A fake $100 bill was passed at 3503 10th St., it was reported Thursday.
An officer made a traffic stop on 16th St. at 4:04 p.m. Thursday and recovered a stolen moped.
A juvenile was bitten by a dog in the 1600 block of Morton St.
Units were requested for backup for a Barton County Sheriff’s officer in front of the jail at 11:15 p.m. Thursday.
At 5:05 a.m. Friday, a resident at 1404 Eighth St. reported a known person breaking three windows on the house. A notice to appear was served, and the suspect was arrested on a municipal warrant for contempt of court.
An attempted burglary at 2900 10th St. was reported at 5:53 a.m. Friday.

Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made six ambulance runs Thursday. There were no fires.

Other fires
There was a large grass fire in Stafford County at 1:10 p.m. Thursday, approximately 7 miles south of the Barton County line at 110 Ave.
